     Αποκάλυψη 14:1 — 14:20

14  Και είδα το Αρνί  να στέκεται πάνω στο Όρος Σιών,  και μαζί του εκατόν σαράντα τέσσερις χιλιάδες  που είχαν το όνομά του και το όνομα του Πατέρα  του γραμμένα στα μέτωπά τους. 2  Και άκουσα έναν ήχο από τον ουρανό σαν τον ήχο πολλών νερών  και σαν τον ήχο δυνατής βροντής· και ο ήχος που άκουσα ήταν σαν τον ήχο τραγουδιστών που συνοδεύουν το τραγούδι τους με άρπα  παίζοντας τις άρπες τους. 3  Και αυτοί ψάλλουν  σαν έναν νέο ύμνο  μπροστά στο θρόνο και μπροστά στα τέσσερα ζωντανά πλάσματα  και στους πρεσβυτέρους·  και κανείς δεν μπορούσε να μάθει αυτόν τον ύμνο παρά μόνο οι εκατόν σαράντα τέσσερις χιλιάδες,  οι οποίοι έχουν αγοραστεί  από τη γη. 4  Αυτοί είναι που δεν μόλυναν τους εαυτούς τους με γυναίκες·  στην πραγματικότητα, είναι παρθένοι.  Αυτοί είναι που ακολουθούν το Αρνί όπου και αν πηγαίνει.  Αυτοί αγοράστηκαν  ανάμεσα από την ανθρωπότητα ως πρώτοι καρποί  για τον Θεό και το Αρνί, 5  και δεν βρέθηκε ψεύδος στο στόμα τους·  αυτοί είναι χωρίς ψεγάδι.  

   6  Και είδα άλλον άγγελο να πετάει στο μεσουράνημα,  και είχε αιώνια καλά νέα  να διακηρύξει ως χαρμόσυνες ειδήσεις προς εκείνους που κατοικούν στη γη, και προς κάθε έθνος και φυλή και γλώσσα και λαό,  7  λέγοντας με δυνατή φωνή: «Φοβηθείτε τον Θεό  και δώστε του δόξα,  επειδή έφτασε η ώρα της κρίσης του,  και γι’ αυτό λατρέψτε Εκείνον που έκανε  τον ουρανό και τη γη και τη θάλασσα και τις πηγές των νερών».  
   8  Και άλλος, δεύτερος άγγελος, ακολούθησε λέγοντας: «Έπεσε! Έπεσε  η Βαβυλώνα  η Μεγάλη, αυτή που πότισε όλα τα έθνη με το κρασί  του θυμού της πορνείας της!»  
   9  Και άλλος άγγελος, τρίτος, τους ακολούθησε λέγοντας με δυνατή φωνή: «Αν κάποιος λατρεύει το θηρίο  και την εικόνα  του, και λαβαίνει σημάδι στο μέτωπό του ή στο χέρι του,  10  θα πιει και αυτός από το κρασί του θυμού του Θεού που χύνεται ανέρωτο στο ποτήρι της οργής του,  και θα βασανιστεί  με φωτιά και θειάφι  ενώπιον των αγίων αγγέλων και ενώπιον του Αρνιού. 11  Και ο καπνός του βασανισμού τους ανεβαίνει στους αιώνες των αιώνων,  και δεν έχουν ανάπαυση ημέρα και νύχτα εκείνοι που λατρεύουν το θηρίο και την εικόνα του και όποιος λαβαίνει το σημάδι  του ονόματός του. 12  Εδώ είναι που περιλαμβάνεται υπομονή για τους αγίους,  εκείνους που τηρούν τις εντολές του Θεού  και την πίστη  του Ιησού».

   13  Και άκουσα φωνή από τον ουρανό να λέει: «Γράψε: Ευτυχισμένοι είναι οι νεκροί  που πεθαίνουν σε ενότητα με τον Κύριο  από τώρα και έπειτα.  Ναι, λέει το πνεύμα, ας αναπαυτούν από τους κόπους τους, γιατί τα έργα τους πηγαίνουν μαζί τους».
   14  Και είδα ένα λευκό σύννεφο, και πάνω στο σύννεφο καθόταν κάποιος όμοιος με γιο ανθρώπου,  με χρυσό στέμμα  στο κεφάλι του και κοφτερό δρεπάνι στο χέρι του.
   15  Και άλλος άγγελος πρόβαλε από το αγιαστήριο του ναού, φωνάζοντας με δυνατή φωνή σε εκείνον που καθόταν πάνω στο σύννεφο: «Βάλε το δρεπάνι σου και θέρισε,  επειδή ήρθε η ώρα για το θέρισμα, γιατί ο θερισμός  της γης είναι εντελώς ώριμος».  16  Και εκείνος που καθόταν στο σύννεφο έβαλε με ορμή το δρεπάνι του στη γη, και η γη θερίστηκε.
   17  Και κάποιος άλλος άγγελος πρόβαλε από το αγιαστήριο του ναού που είναι στον ουρανό,  έχοντας και αυτός κοφτερό δρεπάνι.
   18  Και κάποιος άλλος άγγελος πρόβαλε από το θυσιαστήριο και είχε εξουσία πάνω στη φωτιά.  Και φώναξε με δυνατή φωνή σε εκείνον που είχε το κοφτερό δρεπάνι, λέγοντας: «Βάλε το κοφτερό σου δρεπάνι και τρύγησε τα τσαμπιά του κλήματος της γης,  επειδή έχουν ωριμάσει τα σταφύλια του». 19  Και ο άγγελος  έβαλε με ορμή το δρεπάνι του στη γη και τρύγησε το κλήμα  της γης, και το έριξε στο μεγάλο πατητήρι του θυμού του Θεού.  20  Και το πατητήρι πατήθηκε έξω από την πόλη,  και βγήκε αίμα από το πατητήρι που έφτασε μέχρι τα χαλινάρια των αλόγων,  σε απόσταση χιλίων εξακοσίων σταδίων.
 

14 And I saw, and, look! the Lamb standing upon the Mount Zion, and with him a hundred and forty-four thousand having his name and the name of his Father written on their foreheads. 2 And I heard a sound out of heaven as the sound of many waters and as the sound of loud thunder; and the sound that I heard was as of singers who accompany themselves on the harp playing on their harps. 3 And they are singing as if a new song before the throne and before the four living creatures and the elders; and no one was able to master that song but the hundred and forty-four thousand, who have been bought from the earth. 4 These are the ones that did not defile themselves with women; in fact, they are virgins. These are the ones that keep following the Lamb no matter where he goes. These were bought from among mankind as firstfruits to God and to the Lamb, 5 and no falsehood was found in their mouths; they are without blemish.

6 And I saw another angel flying in midheaven, and he had everlasting good news to declare as glad tidings to those who dwell on the earth, and to every nation and tribe and tongue and people, 7 saying in a loud voice: “FEAR God and give him glory, because the hour of the judgment by him has arrived, and so worship the One who made the heaven and the earth and sea and fountains of waters.”
      8 And another, a second angel, followed, saying: “She has fallen! Babylon the Great has fallen, she who made all the nations drink of the wine of the anger of her fornication!”
      9 And another angel, a third, followed them, saying in a loud voice: “If anyone worships the wild beast and its image, and receives a mark on his forehead or upon his hand, 10 he will also drink of the wine of the anger of God that is poured out undiluted into the cup of his wrath, and he shall be tormented with fire and sulphur in the sight of the holy angels and in the sight of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever, and day and night they have no rest, those who worship the wild beast and its image, and whoever receives the mark of its name. 12 Here is where it means endurance for the holy ones, those who observe the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.”

13 And I heard a voice out of heaven say: “Write: Happy are the dead who die in union with [the] Lord from this time onward. Yes, says the spirit, let them rest from their labors, for the things they did go right with them.”
      14 And I saw, and, look! a white cloud, and upon the cloud someone seated like a son of man, with a golden crown on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand.
      15 And another angel emerged from the temple [sanctuary], crying with a loud voice to the one seated on the cloud: “Put your sickle in and reap, because the hour has come to reap, for the harvest of the earth is thoroughly ripe.” 16 And the one seated on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth, and the earth was reaped.
      17 And still another angel emerged from the temple [sanctuary] that is in heaven, he, too, having a sharp sickle.
      18 And still another angel emerged from the altar and he had authority over the fire. And he called out with a loud voice to the one that had the sharp sickle, saying: “Put your sharp sickle in and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth, because its grapes have become ripe.” 19 And the angel thrust his sickle into the earth and gathered the vine of the earth, and he hurled it into the great winepress of the anger of God. 20 And the winepress was trodden outside the city, and blood came out of the winepress as high up as the bridles of the horses, for a distance of a thousand six hundred furlongs.
