     Αποκάλυψη 5:1 — 5:14

5  Και είδα στο δεξί χέρι Εκείνου που κάθεται στο θρόνο  έναν ρόλο γραμμένο από μέσα και στην πίσω πλευρά,  πολύ καλά σφραγισμένο  με εφτά σφραγίδες. 2  Και είδα έναν ισχυρό άγγελο να διαλαλεί με δυνατή φωνή: «Ποιος είναι άξιος να ανοίξει το ρόλο και να λύσει τις σφραγίδες του;» 3  Αλλά ούτε στον ουρανό ούτε πάνω στη γη ούτε κάτω από τη γη υπήρχε έστω και ένας που να μπορεί να ανοίξει το ρόλο ή να κοιτάξει μέσα σε αυτόν. 4  Και εγώ ξέσπασα σε μεγάλο κλάμα επειδή κανείς δεν βρέθηκε άξιος να ανοίξει το ρόλο ή να κοιτάξει μέσα σε αυτόν.  5  Αλλά ένας από τους πρεσβυτέρους μού λέει: «Μην κλαις. Δες! Το Λιοντάρι που είναι από τη φυλή του Ιούδα,  η ρίζα  του Δαβίδ,  έχει νικήσει  για να ανοίξει το ρόλο και τις εφτά σφραγίδες του».

   6  Και είδα να στέκεται στο μέσο του θρόνου  και των τεσσάρων ζωντανών πλασμάτων και στο μέσο των πρεσβυτέρων  ένα αρνί  σαν να ήταν σφαγμένο,  που είχε εφτά κέρατα και εφτά μάτια, τα οποία μάτια σημαίνουν τα εφτά πνεύματα  του Θεού που έχουν αποσταλεί σε ολόκληρη τη γη. 7  Και πήγε και τον πήρε αμέσως από το δεξί χέρι Εκείνου που κάθεται στο θρόνο.  8  Και όταν πήρε το ρόλο, τα τέσσερα ζωντανά πλάσματα και οι είκοσι τέσσερις πρεσβύτεροι  έπεσαν κάτω ενώπιον του Αρνιού, έχοντας ο καθένας μια άρπα  και χρυσές κούπες που ήταν γεμάτες θυμίαμα, και το θυμίαμα  σημαίνει τις προσευχές  των αγίων. 9  Και ψάλλουν έναν νέο ύμνο,  λέγοντας: «Άξιος είσαι να πάρεις το ρόλο και να ανοίξεις τις σφραγίδες του, επειδή σφάχτηκες και με το αίμα  σου αγόρασες  άτομα για τον Θεό  από κάθε φυλή και γλώσσα και λαό και έθνος, 10  και τους έκανες να είναι βασιλεία  και ιερείς  στον Θεό μας,  και αυτοί θα κυβερνήσουν τη γη ως βασιλιάδες».  

   11  Και είδα, και άκουσα φωνή πολλών αγγέλων γύρω από το θρόνο και από τα ζωντανά πλάσματα και από τους πρεσβυτέρους, και ο αριθμός τους ήταν μυριάδες μυριάδων  και χιλιάδες χιλιάδων,  12  οι οποίοι έλεγαν με δυνατή φωνή: «Το Αρνί που σφάχτηκε  είναι άξιο να λάβει τη δύναμη και πλούτο και σοφία και ισχύ και τιμή και δόξα και ευλογία».  
   13  Και κάθε πλάσμα που είναι στον ουρανό και πάνω στη γη και κάτω από τη γη  και στη θάλασσα, και όλα όσα είναι μέσα σε αυτά, τα άκουσα να λένε: «Σε Εκείνον που κάθεται στο θρόνο  και στο Αρνί  ας είναι η ευλογία και η τιμή  και η δόξα  και η κραταιότητα στους αιώνες των αιώνων». 14  Και τα τέσσερα ζωντανά πλάσματα έλεγαν: «Αμήν!» και οι πρεσβύτεροι  έπεσαν κάτω και πρόσφεραν λατρεία.
 

5 And I saw in the right hand of the One seated upon the throne a scroll written within and on the reverse side, sealed tight with seven seals. 2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice: “Who is worthy to open the scroll and loose its seals?” 3 But neither in heaven nor upon earth nor underneath the earth was there a single one able to open the scroll or to look into it. 4 And I gave way to a great deal of weeping because no one was found worthy to open the scroll or to look into it. 5 But one of the elders says to me: “Stop weeping. Look! The Lion that is of the tribe of Judah, the root of David, has conquered so as to open the scroll and its seven seals.”

6 And I saw standing in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures and in the midst of the elders a lamb as though it had been slaughtered, having seven horns and seven eyes, which [eyes] mean the seven spirits of God that have been sent forth into the whole earth. 7 And he went and at once took [it] out of the right hand of the One seated on the throne. 8 And when he took the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, having each one a harp and golden bowls that were full of incense, and the [incense] means the prayers of the holy ones. 9 And they sing a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll and open its seals, because you were slaughtered and with your blood you bought persons for God out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, 10 and you made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God, and they are to rule as kings over the earth.”

11 And I saw, and I heard a voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders, and the number of them was myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, 12 saying with a loud voice: “The Lamb that was slaughtered is worthy to receive the power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing.”

13 And every creature that is in heaven and on earth and underneath the earth and on the sea, and all the things in them, I heard saying: “To the One sitting on the throne and to the Lamb be the blessing and the honor and the glory and the might forever and ever.” 14 And the four living creatures went saying: “Amen!” and the elders fell down and worshiped.
