     Αποκάλυψη 7:1 — 7:17

7  Έπειτα από αυτό, είδα τέσσερις αγγέλους  να στέκονται πάνω στις τέσσερις γωνιές της γης, κρατώντας σφιχτά τους τέσσερις ανέμους  της γης, για να μη φυσήξει άνεμος πάνω στη γη ούτε πάνω στη θάλασσα ούτε πάνω σε κανένα δέντρο.  2  Και είδα άλλον άγγελο να ανεβαίνει από την ανατολή του ήλιου  έχοντας σφραγίδα του ζωντανού Θεού·  και αυτός φώναξε με δυνατή φωνή στους τέσσερις αγγέλους στους οποίους επιτράπηκε να βλάψουν τη γη και τη θάλασσα, 3  λέγοντας: «Μη βλάψετε τη γη ούτε τη θάλασσα ούτε τα δέντρα, μέχρι να σφραγίσουμε  τους δούλους του Θεού μας στα μέτωπά τους».  

   4  Και άκουσα τον αριθμό εκείνων που ήταν σφραγισμένοι, εκατόν σαράντα τέσσερις χιλιάδες,  σφραγισμένοι από κάθε φυλή  των γιων του Ισραήλ:  
   5  Από τη φυλή του Ιούδα  δώδεκα χιλιάδες σφραγισμένοι·
   από τη φυλή του Ρουβήν  δώδεκα χιλιάδες·
   από τη φυλή του Γαδ  δώδεκα χιλιάδες·
   6  από τη φυλή του Ασήρ  δώδεκα χιλιάδες·
   από τη φυλή του Νεφθαλί  δώδεκα χιλιάδες·
   από τη φυλή του Μανασσή  δώδεκα χιλιάδες·
   7  από τη φυλή του Συμεών  δώδεκα χιλιάδες·
   από τη φυλή του Λευί  δώδεκα χιλιάδες·
   από τη φυλή του Ισσάχαρ  δώδεκα χιλιάδες·
   8  από τη φυλή του Ζαβουλών  δώδεκα χιλιάδες·
   από τη φυλή του Ιωσήφ  δώδεκα χιλιάδες·
   από τη φυλή του Βενιαμίν  δώδεκα χιλιάδες σφραγισμένοι.  

   9  Έπειτα από αυτά, είδα ένα μεγάλο πλήθος,  το οποίο κανένας άνθρωπος δεν μπορούσε να αριθμήσει, από όλα τα έθνη  και τις φυλές και τους λαούς  και τις γλώσσες,  οι οποίοι στέκονταν ενώπιον του θρόνου  και ενώπιον του Αρνιού, ντυμένοι με λευκές στολές·  και είχαν φοινικόκλαδα  στα χέρια τους. 10  Και κραυγάζουν με δυνατή φωνή, λέγοντας: «Τη σωτηρία την οφείλουμε στον Θεό μας,  που κάθεται στο θρόνο,  και στο Αρνί».  

   11  Και όλοι οι άγγελοι  στέκονταν γύρω από το θρόνο και τους πρεσβυτέρους  και τα τέσσερα ζωντανά πλάσματα,  και έπεσαν με το πρόσωπο κάτω ενώπιον του θρόνου και λάτρεψαν τον Θεό,  12  λέγοντας: «Αμήν! Η ευλογία και η δόξα και η σοφία και η ευχαριστία και η τιμή και η δύναμη  και η ισχύς ας είναι στον Θεό μας στους αιώνες των αιώνων. Αμήν».  

   13  Και ένας από τους πρεσβυτέρους  αποκρίθηκε και μου είπε: «Αυτοί που είναι ντυμένοι με τις λευκές στολές,  ποιοι είναι και από πού ήρθαν;» 14  Αμέσως, λοιπόν, του είπα: «Κύριέ μου, εσύ γνωρίζεις». Και μου είπε: «Αυτοί είναι που έρχονται από τη μεγάλη θλίψη,  και έπλυναν τις στολές τους και τις έκαναν λευκές  με το αίμα  του Αρνιού. 15  Γι’ αυτό είναι ενώπιον  του θρόνου του Θεού· και του αποδίδουν ιερή υπηρεσία  ημέρα και νύχτα στο ναό του· και Εκείνος που κάθεται στο θρόνο  θα απλώσει τη σκηνή  του πάνω τους. 16  Δεν θα πεινάσουν πια ούτε θα διψάσουν πια ούτε θα τους χτυπήσει ο ήλιος ούτε κανένας καύσωνας,  17  επειδή το Αρνί,  που είναι στο μέσο του θρόνου, θα τους ποιμάνει  και θα τους οδηγήσει σε πηγές νερών  ζωής. Και ο Θεός θα εξαλείψει κάθε δάκρυ από τα μάτια τους».
 

7 After this I saw four angels standing upon the four corners of the earth, holding tight the four winds of the earth, that no wind might blow upon the earth or upon the sea or upon any tree. 2 And I saw another angel ascending from the sunrising, having a seal of [the] living God; and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted to harm the earth and the sea, 3 saying: “Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees, until after we have sealed the slaves of our God in their foreheads.”
      4 And I heard the number of those who were sealed, a hundred and forty-four thousand, sealed out of every tribe of the sons of Israel:
          5 Out of the tribe of Judah twelve thousand sealed;
          out of the tribe of Reuben twelve thousand;
          out of the tribe of Gad twelve thousand;
          6 out of the tribe of Asher twelve thousand;
          out of the tribe of Naphtali twelve thousand;
          out of the tribe of Manasseh twelve thousand;
          7 out of the tribe of Simeon twelve thousand;
          out of the tribe of Levi twelve thousand;
          out of the tribe of Issachar twelve thousand;
          8 out of the tribe of Zebulun twelve thousand;
          out of the tribe of Joseph twelve thousand;
          out of the tribe of Benjamin twelve thousand sealed.

9 After these things I saw, and, look! a great crowd, which no man was able to number, out of all nations and tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, dressed in white robes; and there were palm branches in their hands. 10 And they keep on crying with a loud voice, saying: “Salvation [we owe] to our God, who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb.”

11 And all the angels were standing around the throne and the elders and the four living creatures, and they fell upon their faces before the throne and worshiped God, 12 saying: “Amen! The blessing and the glory and the wisdom and the thanksgiving and the honor and the power and the strength [be] to our God forever and ever. Amen.”

13 And in response one of the elders said to me: “These who are dressed in the white robes, who are they and where did they come from?” 14 So right away I said to him: “My lord, you are the one that knows.” And he said to me: “These are the ones that come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15 That is why they are before the throne of God; and they are rendering him sacred service day and night in his temple; and the One seated on the throne will spread his tent over them. 16 They will hunger no more nor thirst anymore, neither will the sun beat down upon them nor any scorching heat, 17 because the Lamb, who is in the midst of the throne, will shepherd them, and will guide them to fountains of waters of life. And God will wipe out every tear from their eyes.”
