15  Και εκείνος που μιλούσε μαζί μου κρατούσε ως μέτρο ένα χρυσό καλάμι,  για να μετρήσει την πόλη και τις πύλες της και το τείχος της.  16  Και η πόλη είναι τετράγωνη, και το μήκος της είναι όσο το πλάτος της. Και μέτρησε την πόλη  με το καλάμι, δώδεκα χιλιάδες στάδια· το μήκος της και το πλάτος της και το ύψος της είναι ίσα. 17  Επίσης, μέτρησε το τείχος της, εκατόν σαράντα τέσσερις πήχεις, σύμφωνα με το μέτρο ανθρώπου, που είναι συγχρόνως και αγγέλου. 18  Η δομή του τείχους της ήταν ίασπης,  και η πόλη ήταν καθαρό χρυσάφι όμοιο με καθαρό γυαλί. 19  Τα θεμέλια  του τείχους της πόλης ήταν στολισμένα με κάθε είδους πολύτιμη πέτρα:  το πρώτο θεμέλιο ήταν ίασπης,  το δεύτερο ζαφείρι,  το τρίτο χαλκηδόνιος, το τέταρτο σμαράγδι,  20  το πέμπτο σαρδόνυχας, το έκτο σάρδιο, το έβδομο χρυσόλιθος,  το όγδοο βήρυλλος, το ένατο τοπάζι,  το δέκατο χρυσοπράσιο, το ενδέκατο υάκινθος, το δωδέκατο αμέθυστος.  21  Και οι δώδεκα πύλες ήταν δώδεκα μαργαριτάρια· η καθεμιά από τις πύλες ήταν φτιαγμένη από ένα μαργαριτάρι.  Και ο πλατύς δρόμος της πόλης ήταν καθαρό χρυσάφι, σαν διαφανές γυαλί.

   22  Και δεν είδα ναό μέσα σε αυτήν,  γιατί ο Ιεχωβά  Θεός ο Παντοδύναμος  είναι ο ναός της,  καθώς και το Αρνί.  23  Και η πόλη δεν χρειάζεται τον ήλιο ούτε τη σελήνη να λάμπουν πάνω της, γιατί τη φώτισε η δόξα του Θεού,  και το λυχνάρι της ήταν το Αρνί.  24  Και τα έθνη θα περπατήσουν μέσω του φωτός της,  και οι βασιλιάδες της γης θα φέρουν τη δόξα τους σε αυτήν.  25  Και οι πύλες της δεν θα κλειστούν καθόλου την ημέρα,  γιατί νύχτα δεν θα υπάρχει εκεί.  26  Και θα φέρουν τη δόξα και την τιμή των εθνών σε αυτήν.  27  Αλλά οτιδήποτε δεν είναι ιερό και οποιοσδήποτε εμμένει σε αηδιαστικό πράγμα  και ψέμα  δεν πρόκειται να μπει σε αυτήν·  μόνο εκείνοι που είναι γραμμένοι στο ρόλο της ζωής του Αρνιού θα μπουν.  

22  Και μου έδειξε ποταμό νερού ζωής,  καθαρό σαν κρύσταλλο, που έρρεε από το θρόνο του Θεού και του Αρνιού  2  στη μέση του πλατιού δρόμου της. Και από τη μία πλευρά του ποταμού και από την άλλη πλευρά υπήρχαν δέντρα  ζωής που παράγουν δώδεκα σοδειές καρπών, αποδίδοντας τον καρπό τους κάθε μήνα.  Και τα φύλλα των δέντρων ήταν για τη θεραπεία των εθνών.  

   3  Και δεν θα υπάρξει πια καμιά κατάρα.  Αλλά ο θρόνος του Θεού  και του Αρνιού  θα είναι στην πόλη, και οι δούλοι του θα του αποδίδουν ιερή υπηρεσία·  4  και θα βλέπουν το πρόσωπό του,  και το όνομά του θα είναι στα μέτωπά τους.  5  Επίσης, νύχτα δεν θα υπάρχει πια,  και αυτοί δεν χρειάζονται το φως του λυχναριού ούτε έχουν το φως του ήλιου, επειδή ο Ιεχωβά Θεός θα ρίχνει φως  πάνω τους, και θα βασιλέψουν στους αιώνες των αιώνων.  

   6  Και μου είπε: «Αυτά τα λόγια είναι πιστά και αληθινά·  ναι, ο Ιεχωβά, ο Θεός των εμπνευσμένων εκφράσεων  των προφητών,  απέστειλε τον άγγελό του για να δείξει στους δούλους του όσα πρέπει να γίνουν σύντομα.  7  Και δες! έρχομαι γρήγορα.  Ευτυχισμένος είναι όποιος τηρεί τα λόγια της προφητείας αυτού του ρόλου».  
 

15 Now the one who was speaking with me was holding as a measure a golden reed, that he might measure the city and its gates and its wall. 16 And the city lies foursquare, and its length is as great as its breadth. And he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs; its length and breadth and height are equal. 17 Also, he measured its wall, one hundred and forty-four cubits, according to a man’s measure, at the same time an angel’s. 18 Now the structure of its wall was jasper, and the city was pure gold like clear glass. 19 The foundations of the city’s wall were adorned with every sort of precious stone: the first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald, 20 the fifth sardonyx, the sixth sardius, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh hyacinth, the twelfth amethyst. 21 Also, the twelve gates were twelve pearls; each one of the gates was made of one pearl. And the broad way of the city was pure gold, as transparent glass.

22 And I did not see a temple in it, for Jehovah God the Almighty is its temple, also the Lamb [is]. 23 And the city has no need of the sun nor of the moon to shine upon it, for the glory of God lighted it up, and its lamp was the Lamb. 24 And the nations will walk by means of its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it. 25 And its gates will not be closed at all by day, for night will not exist there. 26 And they will bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it. 27 But anything not sacred and anyone that carries on a disgusting thing and a lie will in no way enter into it; only those written in the Lamb’s scroll of life [will].

22 And he showed me a river of water of life, clear as crystal, flowing out from the throne of God and of the Lamb 2 down the middle of its broad way. And on this side of the river and on that side [there were] trees of life producing twelve crops of fruit, yielding their fruits each month. And the leaves of the trees [were] for the curing of the nations.

3 And no more will there be any curse. But the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in [the city], and his slaves will render him sacred service; 4 and they will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. 5 Also, night will be no more, and they have no need of lamplight nor [do they have] sunlight, because Jehovah God will shed light upon them, and they will rule as kings forever and ever.

6 And he said to me: “These words are faithful and true; yes, Jehovah the God of the inspired expressions of the prophets sent his angel forth to show his slaves the things that must shortly take place. 7 And, look! I am coming quickly. Happy is anyone observing the words of the prophecy of this scroll.”
