38 Τότε, απαντώντας σε αυτόν, μερικοί από τους γραμματείς και Φαρισαίους είπαν: «Δάσκαλε, θέλουμε να δούμε σημείο από εσένα». 39 Αυτός αποκρίθηκε και τους είπε: «Μια πονηρή και μοιχαλίδα γενιά ζητάει συνεχώς σημείο, αλλά σημείο δεν θα της δοθεί εκτός από το σημείο του Ιωνά του προφήτη. 40 Διότι όπως ο Ιωνάς ήταν στην κοιλιά του τεράστιου ψαριού τρεις ημέρες και τρεις νύχτες, έτσι θα είναι ο Γιος του ανθρώπου στην καρδιά της γης τρεις ημέρες και τρεις νύχτες. 41 Οι Νινευίτες θα αναστηθούν στην κρίση μαζί με αυτή τη γενιά και θα την καταδικάσουν· επειδή εκείνοι μετανόησαν με αυτό που κήρυξε ο Ιωνάς, αλλά ορίστε! κάτι που είναι περισσότερο από τον Ιωνά βρίσκεται εδώ. 42 Η βασίλισσα του νότου θα εγερθεί στην κρίση μαζί με αυτή τη γενιά και θα την καταδικάσει· επειδή εκείνη ήρθε από τα πέρατα της γης να ακούσει τη σοφία του Σολομώντα, αλλά ορίστε! κάτι που είναι περισσότερο από τον Σολομώντα βρίσκεται εδώ.

   43 »Όταν ένα ακάθαρτο πνεύμα βγαίνει από κάποιον άνθρωπο, περνάει μέσα από ξερότοπους ψάχνοντας για τόπο ανάπαυσης, και δεν βρίσκει. 44 Τότε λέει: “Θα γυρίσω στο σπίτι μου από το οποίο βγήκα”· και φτάνοντας το βρίσκει ακατοίκητο αλλά σκουπισμένο και στολισμένο. 45 Τότε πηγαίνει και παίρνει μαζί του εφτά άλλα πνεύματα πιο πονηρά από το ίδιο και, αφού μπουν μέσα, κατοικούν εκεί· και οι τελικές περιστάσεις εκείνου του ανθρώπου γίνονται χειρότερες από τις πρώτες. Έτσι θα γίνει και με αυτή την πονηρή γενιά».

   46 Ενώ μιλούσε ακόμη στα πλήθη, η μητέρα του και οι αδελφοί του στάθηκαν έξω ζητώντας να του μιλήσουν. 47 Κάποιος, λοιπόν, του είπε: «Δες! Η μητέρα σου και οι αδελφοί σου στέκονται έξω, ζητώντας να σου μιλήσουν». 48 Απαντώντας, είπε σε αυτόν που του το έλεγε: «Ποια είναι η μητέρα μου, και ποιοι είναι οι αδελφοί μου;» 49 Και εκτείνοντας το χέρι του προς τους μαθητές του, είπε: «Να η μητέρα μου και οι αδελφοί μου! 50 Διότι όποιος κάνει το θέλημα του Πατέρα μου που είναι στον ουρανό, αυτός είναι αδελφός και αδελφή και μητέρα μου».

13  Εκείνη την ημέρα ο Ιησούς, αφού έφυγε από το σπίτι, καθόταν κοντά στη θάλασσα· 2 και μεγάλα πλήθη συγκεντρώθηκαν κοντά του, ώστε αυτός επιβιβάστηκε σε ένα πλοιάριο και κάθησε, και όλο το πλήθος στεκόταν στην ακρογιαλιά. 3 Τότε τους μίλησε για πολλά πράγματα με παραβολές, λέγοντας: «Ο σπορέας βγήκε να σπείρει· 4 και καθώς έσπερνε, μερικοί σπόροι έπεσαν δίπλα στο δρόμο, και ήρθαν τα πουλιά και τους έφαγαν. 5 Άλλοι έπεσαν πάνω στους βραχώδεις τόπους όπου δεν είχαν πολύ χώμα, και αμέσως φύτρωσαν, επειδή το χώμα δεν είχε βάθος. 6 Αλλά όταν ανέτειλε ο ήλιος, κάηκαν και επειδή δεν είχαν ρίζα ξεράθηκαν. 7 Άλλοι, επίσης, έπεσαν ανάμεσα στα αγκάθια, και τα αγκάθια ψήλωσαν και τους έπνιξαν. 8 Άλλοι πάλι έπεσαν πάνω στο καλό χώμα και άρχισαν να αποδίδουν καρπό, αυτός εκατό φορές περισσότερο, εκείνος εξήντα, ο άλλος τριάντα. 9 Αυτός που έχει αφτιά ας ακούει».

 

       38 Then as an answer to him some of the scribes and Pharisees said: “Teacher, we want to see a sign from you.” 39 In reply he said to them: “A wicked and adulterous generation keeps on seeking for a sign, but no sign will be given it except the sign of Jonah the prophet. 40 For just as Jonah was in the belly of the huge fish three days and three nights, so the Son of man will be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights. 41 Men of Nineveh will rise up in the judgment with this generation and will condemn it; because they repented at what Jonah preached, but, look! something more than Jonah is here. 42 The queen of the south will be raised up in the judgment with this generation and will condemn it; because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, but, look! something more than Solomon is here.

43 “When an unclean spirit comes out of a man, it passes through parched places in search of a resting-place, and finds none. 44 Then it says, ‘I will go back to my house out of which I moved’; and on arriving it finds it unoccupied but swept clean and adorned. 45 Then it goes its way and takes along with it seven different spirits more wicked than itself, and, after getting inside, they dwell there; and the final circumstances of that man become worse than the first. That is how it will be also with this wicked generation.”

46 While he was yet speaking to the crowds, look! his mother and brothers took up a position outside seeking to speak to him. 47 So someone said to him: “Look! Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, seeking to speak to you.” 48 As an answer he said to the one telling him: “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” 49 And extending his hand toward his disciples, he said: “Look! My mother and my brothers! 50 For whoever does the will of my Father who is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.”

13 On that day Jesus, having left the house, was sitting by the sea; 2 and great crowds gathered to him, so that he went aboard a boat and sat down, and all the crowd was standing on the beach. 3 Then he told them many things by illustrations, saying: “Look! A sower went out to sow; 4 and as he was sowing, some [seeds] fell alongside the road, and the birds came and ate them up. 5 Others fell upon the rocky places where they did not have much soil, and at once they sprang up because of not having depth of soil. 6 But when the sun rose they were scorched, and because of not having root they withered. 7 Others, too, fell among the thorns, and the thorns came up and choked them. 8 Still others fell upon the fine soil and they began to yield fruit, this one a hundredfold, that one sixty, the other thirty. 9 Let him that has ears listen.”
