24 Όταν το άκουσαν αυτό οι άλλοι δέκα, αγανάκτησαν με τα δύο αδέλφια. 25 Αλλά ο Ιησούς, αφού τους κάλεσε, είπε: «Ξέρετε ότι οι άρχοντες των εθνών τα καταδυναστεύουν και οι μεγάλοι τα κατεξουσιάζουν. 26 Δεν είναι έτσι τα πράγματα μεταξύ σας· αλλά όποιος θέλει να γίνει μεγάλος μεταξύ σας πρέπει να είναι διάκονός σας, 27 και όποιος θέλει να είναι πρώτος μεταξύ σας πρέπει να είναι δούλος σας. 28 Ακριβώς όπως ο Γιος του ανθρώπου ήρθε, όχι για να τον διακονήσουν, αλλά για να διακονήσει και να δώσει την ψυχή του λύτρο σε αντάλλαγμα για πολλούς».

   29 Και καθώς έβγαιναν από την Ιεριχώ, τον ακολούθησε μεγάλο πλήθος. 30 Τότε δύο τυφλοί που κάθονταν δίπλα στο δρόμο άκουσαν ότι περνούσε ο Ιησούς και κραύγασαν, λέγοντας: «Κύριε, ελέησέ μας, Γιε του Δαβίδ!» 31 Αλλά το πλήθος τούς είπε αυστηρά να σωπάσουν· εντούτοις αυτοί κραύγαζαν όλο και πιο δυνατά, λέγοντας: «Κύριε, ελέησέ μας, Γιε του Δαβίδ!» 32 Ο Ιησούς, λοιπόν, σταμάτησε, τους φώναξε και είπε: «Τι θέλετε να κάνω για εσάς;» 33 Αυτοί του είπαν: «Κύριε, ας ανοιχτούν τα μάτια μας». 34 Νιώθοντας ευσπλαχνία, ο Ιησούς άγγιξε τα μάτια τους, και αυτοί απέκτησαν αμέσως την όρασή τους και τον ακολούθησαν.

21  Και όταν πλησίασαν στην Ιερουσαλήμ και έφτασαν στη Βηθφαγή, στο Όρος των Ελαιών, τότε έστειλε ο Ιησούς δύο μαθητές, 2 λέγοντάς τους: «Πηγαίνετε στο χωριό που φαίνεται και θα βρείτε αμέσως ένα θηλυκό γαϊδούρι δεμένο, και μαζί του ένα πουλάρι· λύστε τα και φέρτε τα σε εμένα. 3 Και αν κάποιος σας πει κάτι, πρέπει να πείτε: “Ο Κύριος τα χρειάζεται”. Τότε θα τα στείλει αμέσως».

   4 Αυτό, όμως, έγινε για να εκπληρωθεί εκείνο που λέχθηκε μέσω του προφήτη, ο οποίος είπε: 5 «Πείτε στην κόρη της Σιών: “Δες! Ο Βασιλιάς σου έρχεται σε εσένα πράος και ανεβασμένος σε γαϊδούρι, ναι, σε πουλάρι, σε γέννημα υποζυγίου”».

   6 Οι μαθητές, λοιπόν, πήγαν και έκαναν ό,τι τους πρόσταξε ο Ιησούς. 7 Και έφεραν το γαϊδούρι και το πουλάρι του και έβαλαν πάνω σε αυτά τα εξωτερικά τους ενδύματα, και αυτός κάθησε πάνω τους. 8 Οι περισσότεροι από το πλήθος έστρωσαν τα εξωτερικά τους ενδύματα στο δρόμο, ενώ άλλοι άρχισαν να κόβουν κλαδιά από τα δέντρα και να τα στρώνουν στο δρόμο. 9 Όσο για τα πλήθη, εκείνοι που πήγαιναν μπροστά από αυτόν και εκείνοι που ακολουθούσαν κραύγαζαν: «Σώσε, σε ικετεύουμε, τον Γιο του Δαβίδ! Ευλογημένος αυτός που έρχεται στο όνομα του Ιεχωβά! Σώσε τον, σε ικετεύουμε, εκεί πάνω στα ύψη!»
 

24 When the ten others heard of this, they became indignant at the two brothers. 25 But Jesus, calling them to him, said: “YOU know that the rulers of the nations lord it over them and the great men wield authority over them. 26 This is not the way among YOU; but whoever wants to become great among YOU must be YOUR minister, 27 and whoever wants to be first among YOU must be YOUR slave. 28 Just as the Son of man came, not to be ministered to, but to minister and to give his soul a ransom in exchange for many.”

29 Now as they were going out of Jericho a great crowd followed him. 30 And, look! two blind men sitting beside the road, when they heard that Jesus was passing by, cried out, saying: “Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!” 31 But the crowd sternly told them to keep silent; yet they cried all the louder, saying: “Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!” 32 So Jesus stopped, called them and said: “What do YOU want me to do for YOU?” 33 They said to him: “Lord, let our eyes be opened.” 34 Moved with pity, Jesus touched their eyes, and immediately they received sight, and they followed him.

21 Well, when they got close to Jerusalem and arrived at Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent forth two disciples, 2 saying to them: “Be on YOUR way into the village that is within sight of YOU, and YOU will at once find an ass tied, and a colt with her; untie them and bring them to me. 3 And if someone says anything to YOU, YOU must say, ‘The Lord needs them.’ At that he will immediately send them forth.”

4 This actually took place that there might be fulfilled what was spoken through the prophet, saying: 5 “TELL the daughter of Zion, ‘Look! Your King is coming to you, mild-tempered, and mounted upon an ass, yes, upon a colt, the offspring of a beast of burden.’”

6 So the disciples got on their way and did just as Jesus ordered them. 7 And they brought the ass and its colt, and they put upon these their outer garments, and he seated himself upon them. 8 Most of the crowd spread their outer garments on the road, while others began cutting down branches from the trees and spreading them on the road. 9 As for the crowds, those going ahead of him and those following kept crying out: “Save, we pray, the Son of David! Blessed is he that comes in Jehovah’s name! Save him, we pray, in the heights above!”
