24  Και πέρασαν από την Πισιδία και ήρθαν στην Παμφυλία  25 και, αφού ανήγγειλαν το λόγο στην Πέργη, κατέβηκαν στην Αττάλεια. 26 Και από εκεί απέπλευσαν για την Αντιόχεια,  όπου τους είχαν εμπιστευτεί στην παρ’ αξία καλοσύνη του Θεού για το έργο που είχαν εκτελέσει στο πλήρες. 

   27  Αφού έφτασαν και συγκέντρωσαν την εκκλησία, άρχισαν να αφηγούνται  τα πολλά πράγματα που είχε κάνει ο Θεός μέσω αυτών και το ότι είχε ανοίξει στα έθνη την πόρτα για την πίστη.  28 Και έμειναν αρκετό καιρό με τους μαθητές.

15  Και κάποιοι κατέβηκαν από την Ιουδαία  και άρχισαν να διδάσκουν τους αδελφούς: «Αν δεν περιτμηθείτε  σύμφωνα με το έθιμο του Μωυσή,  δεν μπορείτε να σωθείτε». 2 Και αφού έγινε αρκετή διένεξη και αντιλογία ανάμεσα στον Παύλο και τον Βαρνάβα και σε αυτούς, διευθέτησαν να ανεβούν ο Παύλος και ο Βαρνάβας και ορισμένοι άλλοι από αυτούς προς τους αποστόλους και τους πρεσβυτέρους στην Ιερουσαλήμ  σχετικά με την αντιλογία αυτή.

   3  Αφού, λοιπόν, τους ξεπροβόδισε η εκκλησία,  αυτοί συνέχισαν το δρόμο τους μέσα από τη Φοινίκη καθώς και τη Σαμάρεια, αφηγούμενοι λεπτομερώς τη μεταστροφή εθνικών,  και έφερναν μεγάλη χαρά σε όλους τους αδελφούς.  4  Όταν έφτασαν στην Ιερουσαλήμ, η εκκλησία και οι απόστολοι και οι πρεσβύτεροι τους δέχτηκαν με καλοσύνη,  και αυτοί διηγήθηκαν τα πολλά πράγματα που είχε κάνει ο Θεός μέσω αυτών.  5 Εντούτοις, ορισμένοι από εκείνους που προέρχονταν από την αίρεση των Φαρισαίων, οι οποίοι είχαν πιστέψει, σηκώθηκαν από τις θέσεις τους και είπαν: «Είναι απαραίτητο να τους περιτέμνουμε  και να τους παραγγέλλουμε να τηρούν το νόμο του Μωυσή». 

   6 Και συγκεντρώθηκαν οι απόστολοι και οι πρεσβύτεροι για να φροντίσουν για την υπόθεση αυτή.  7 Αφού, λοιπόν, έγινε μεγάλη αντιλογία,  σηκώθηκε ο Πέτρος και τους είπε: «Άντρες αδελφοί, γνωρίζετε καλά ότι από τις πρώτες ημέρες ο Θεός έκανε την εκλογή ανάμεσά σας να ακούσουν εθνικοί μέσω του δικού μου στόματος το λόγο των καλών νέων και να πιστέψουν·  8 και ο Θεός, που γνωρίζει την καρδιά,  έδωσε μαρτυρία παρέχοντάς τους το άγιο πνεύμα,  όπως έκανε και σε εμάς. 9 Και δεν έκανε καμιά απολύτως διάκριση ανάμεσα σε εμάς και σε αυτούς,  αλλά εξάγνισε τις καρδιές τους μέσω πίστης.  10 Τώρα λοιπόν, γιατί θέτετε σε δοκιμή τον Θεό επιβάλλοντας στον τράχηλο των μαθητών έναν ζυγό  που ούτε οι προπάτορές μας ούτε εμείς μπορέσαμε να βαστάξουμε;  11 Απεναντίας, έχουμε εμπιστοσύνη ότι θα σωθούμε μέσω της παρ’ αξία καλοσύνης  του Κυρίου Ιησού με τον ίδιο τρόπο όπως και αυτοί». 

   12 Τότε ολόκληρο το πλήθος σώπασε και άκουγε τον Βαρνάβα και τον Παύλο να αφηγούνται τα πολλά σημεία και θαυμαστά προμηνύματα που έκανε ο Θεός μέσω αυτών ανάμεσα στα έθνη.  13  Αφού έπαψαν να μιλούν, αποκρίθηκε ο Ιάκωβος, λέγοντας: «Άντρες αδελφοί, ακούστε με.  14  Ο Συμεών  αφηγήθηκε λεπτομερώς πώς ο Θεός έστρεψε για πρώτη φορά την προσοχή του στα έθνη για να πάρει από αυτά έναν λαό για το όνομά του.  15 Και με αυτό συμφωνούν τα λόγια των Προφητών, όπως είναι γραμμένο: 16 “Έπειτα από αυτά, θα επιστρέψω και θα ανοικοδομήσω τη σκηνή του Δαβίδ που είναι πεσμένη· και θα ανοικοδομήσω τα ερείπιά της και θα τη στήσω πάλι,  17 ώστε εκείνοι που απομένουν από τους ανθρώπους να αναζητήσουν ένθερμα τον Ιεχωβά, μαζί με άτομα από όλα τα έθνη, άτομα που καλούνται με το όνομά μου, λέει ο Ιεχωβά, ο οποίος κάνει αυτά τα πράγματα,  18 τα γνωστά από την αρχαιότητα”.  19 Επομένως, η απόφασή μου είναι να μην αναστατώνουμε εκείνους από τα έθνη οι οποίοι στρέφονται στον Θεό,  20 αλλά να τους γράψουμε να απέχουν από πράγματα μιασμένα από είδωλα,  και από πορνεία  και από πνιχτό  και από αίμα.  21 Διότι από τους αρχαίους καιρούς ο Μωυσής έχει σε κάθε πόλη εκείνους που τον κηρύττουν, επειδή διαβάζεται μεγαλόφωνα στις συναγωγές κάθε σάββατο». 
 

24 And they went through Pisidia and came into Pamphylia, 25 and, after speaking the word in Perga, they went down to Attalia. 26 And from there they sailed off for Antioch, where they had been entrusted to the undeserved kindness of God for the work they had fully performed.

27 When they had arrived and had gathered the congregation together, they proceeded to relate the many things God had done by means of them, and that he had opened to the nations the door to faith. 28 So they spent not a little time with the disciples.

15 And certain men came down from Judea and began to teach the brothers: “Unless YOU get circumcised according to the custom of Moses, YOU cannot be saved.” 2 But when there had occurred no little dissension and disputing by Paul and Barnabas with them, they arranged for Paul and Barnabas and some others of them to go up to the apostles and older men in Jerusalem regarding this dispute.

3 Accordingly, after being conducted partway by the congregation, these men continued on their way through both Phoenicia and Samaria, relating in detail the conversion of people of the nations, and they were causing great joy to all the brothers. 4 On arriving in Jerusalem they were kindly received by the congregation and the apostles and the older men, and they recounted the many things God had done by means of them. 5 Yet, some of those of the sect of the Pharisees that had believed rose up from their seats and said: “It is necessary to circumcise them and charge them to observe the law of Moses.”

6 And the apostles and the older men gathered together to see about this affair. 7 Now when much disputing had taken place, Peter rose and said to them: “Men, brothers, YOU well know that from early days God made the choice among YOU that through my mouth people of the nations should hear the word of the good news and believe; 8 and God, who knows the heart, bore witness by giving them the holy spirit, just as he did to us also. 9 And he made no distinction at all between us and them, but purified their hearts by faith. 10 Now, therefore, why are YOU making a test of God by imposing upon the neck of the disciples a yoke that neither our forefathers nor we were capable of bearing? 11 On the contrary, we trust to get saved through the undeserved kindness of the Lord Jesus in the same way as those people also.”

12 At that the entire multitude became silent, and they began to listen to Barnabas and Paul relate the many signs and portents that God did through them among the nations. 13 After they quit speaking, James answered, saying: “Men, brothers, hear me. 14 Symeon has related thoroughly how God for the first time turned his attention to the nations to take out of them a people for his name. 15 And with this the words of the Prophets agree, just as it is written, 16 ‘After these things I shall return and rebuild the booth of David that is fallen down; and I shall rebuild its ruins and erect it again, 17 in order that those who remain of the men may earnestly seek Jehovah, together with people of all the nations, people who are called by my name, says Jehovah, who is doing these things, 18 known from of old.’ 19 Hence my decision is not to trouble those from the nations who are turning to God, 20 but to write them to abstain from things polluted by idols and from fornication and from what is strangled and from blood. 21 For from ancient times Moses has had in city after city those who preach him, because he is read aloud in the synagogues on every sabbath.”
