20  »Δεν παρακαλώ για αυτούς μόνο, αλλά και για εκείνους που θέτουν πίστη σε εμένα μέσω του λόγου τους·  21  ώστε να είναι όλοι ένα,  όπως εσύ, Πατέρα, είσαι σε ενότητα με εμένα και εγώ είμαι σε ενότητα με εσένα,  να είναι και αυτοί σε ενότητα με εμάς,  ώστε να πιστέψει ο κόσμος ότι εσύ με απέστειλες.  22  Επίσης, τους έχω δώσει τη δόξα που μου έδωσες, ώστε να είναι ένα όπως εμείς είμαστε ένα·  23  εγώ σε ενότητα με αυτούς και εσύ σε ενότητα με εμένα, για να τελειοποιηθούν σε ένα,  ώστε ο κόσμος να γνωρίζει ότι εσύ με απέστειλες και ότι τους αγάπησες όπως αγάπησες εμένα. 24  Πατέρα, όσο για αυτό που μου έδωσες, θέλω όπου είμαι εγώ να είναι και αυτοί μαζί μου,  για να βλέπουν τη δόξα μου την οποία μου έδωσες, επειδή με αγάπησες πριν από τη θεμελίωση  του κόσμου.  25  Δίκαιε  Πατέρα, πράγματι ο κόσμος δεν σε έχει γνωρίσει·  εγώ όμως σε έχω γνωρίσει, και αυτοί έχουν γνωρίσει ότι εσύ με απέστειλες.  26  Και τους γνωστοποίησα το όνομά  σου και θα το γνωστοποιήσω, ώστε η αγάπη με την οποία με αγάπησες να είναι μέσα σε αυτούς και εγώ σε ενότητα με αυτούς».

18  Αφού τα είπε αυτά, ο Ιησούς πήγε μαζί με τους μαθητές του στην απέναντι πλευρά του χειμάρρου Κιδρόν  όπου υπήρχε ένας κήπος, στον οποίο μπήκε αυτός και οι μαθητές του.  2  Ήξερε δε και ο Ιούδας ο προδότης του εκείνο το μέρος, επειδή ο Ιησούς είχε συναντηθεί πολλές φορές εκεί με τους μαθητές του.  3  Γι’ αυτό, ο Ιούδας πήρε τη μονάδα των στρατιωτών και υπηρέτες από τους πρωθιερείς και τους Φαρισαίους και ήρθε εκεί με πυρσούς και λυχνάρια και όπλα.  4  Ο Ιησούς, λοιπόν, γνωρίζοντας όλα όσα επρόκειτο να έρθουν πάνω του,  βγήκε μπροστά και τους είπε: «Ποιον ψάχνετε;» 5  Εκείνοι του απάντησαν: «Τον Ιησού τον Ναζωραίο».  Αυτός τους είπε: «Εγώ είμαι». Ο δε Ιούδας ο προδότης του  στεκόταν και εκείνος μαζί τους.

   6  Ωστόσο, όταν τους είπε: «Εγώ είμαι», τραβήχτηκαν πίσω  και έπεσαν στο έδαφος. 7  Τους ρώτησε, λοιπόν, πάλι: «Ποιον ψάχνετε;» Εκείνοι είπαν: «Τον Ιησού τον Ναζωραίο». 8  Ο Ιησούς απάντησε: «Σας είπα ότι εγώ είμαι. Αν, λοιπόν, ψάχνετε εμένα, αφήστε αυτούς να φύγουν»· 9  για να εκπληρωθεί ο λόγος τον οποίο είπε: «Από εκείνους που μου έδωσες δεν έχασα κανέναν».   

   10  Τότε ο Σίμων Πέτρος, που είχε ένα σπαθί, το τράβηξε και χτύπησε το δούλο του αρχιερέα και του έκοψε το δεξί αφτί.  Το όνομα του δούλου ήταν Μάλχος.  11  Ο Ιησούς, ωστόσο, είπε στον Πέτρο: «Βάλε το σπαθί στη θήκη του.  Το ποτήρι που μου έχει δώσει ο Πατέρας, δεν πρέπει οπωσδήποτε να το πιω;»   
 

20 “I make request, not concerning these only, but also concerning those putting faith in me through their word; 21 in order that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in union with me and I am in union with you, that they also may be in union with us, in order that the world may believe that you sent me forth. 22 Also, I have given them the glory that you have given me, in order that they may be one just as we are one. 23 I in union with them and you in union with me, in order that they may be perfected into one, that the world may have the knowledge that you sent me forth and that you loved them just as you loved me. 24 Father, as to what you have given me, I wish that, where I am, they also may be with me, in order to behold my glory that you have given me, because you loved me before the founding of the world. 25 Righteous Father, the world has, indeed, not come to know you; but I have come to know you, and these have come to know that you sent me forth. 26 And I have made your name known to them and will make it known, in order that the love with which you loved me may be in them and I in union with them.”

18 Having said these things, Jesus went out with his disciples across the winter torrent of Kidron to where there was a garden, and he and his disciples entered into it. 2 Now Judas, his betrayer, also knew the place, because Jesus had many times met there with his disciples. 3 Therefore Judas took the soldier band and officers of the chief priests and of the Pharisees and came there with torches and lamps and weapons. 4 Jesus, therefore, knowing all the things coming upon him, went forth and said to them: “Whom are YOU looking for?” 5 They answered him: “Jesus the Nazarene.” He said to them: “I am [he].” Now Judas, his betrayer, was also standing with them.

6 However, when he said to them: “I am [he],” they drew back and fell to the ground. 7 Therefore he asked them again: “Whom are YOU looking for?” They said: “Jesus the Nazarene.” 8 Jesus answered: “I told YOU I am [he]. If, therefore, it is I YOU are looking for, let these go”; 9 in order that the word might be fulfilled which he said: “Of those whom you have given me I have not lost a single one.”

10 Then Simon Peter, as he had a sword, drew it and struck the slave of the high priest and cut his right ear off. The name of the slave was Malchus. 11 Jesus, however, said to Peter: “Put the sword into [its] sheath. The cup that the Father has given me, should I not by all means drink it?”
