20 Την πρώτη ημέρα της εβδομάδας, η Μαρία η Μαγδαληνή ήρθε στο μνημείο νωρίς, ενώ ήταν ακόμη σκοτάδι, και είδε την πέτρα να έχει ήδη μετακινηθεί από το μνημείο. 2 Έτσι λοιπόν, έτρεξε και ήρθε στον Σίμωνα Πέτρο και στον άλλον μαθητή, για τον οποίο ένιωθε στοργή ο Ιησούς, και τους είπε: «Πήραν τον Κύριο από το μνημείο και δεν γνωρίζουμε πού τον έχουν βάλει».

   3 Τότε ο Πέτρος και ο άλλος μαθητής βγήκαν έξω και ξεκίνησαν για το μνημείο. 4 Άρχισαν μάλιστα να τρέχουν και οι δύο μαζί· ο άλλος μαθητής, όμως, έτρεξε μπροστά από τον Πέτρο με μεγαλύτερη ταχύτητα και έφτασε στο μνημείο πρώτος. 5 Και σκύβοντας μέσα, είδε τους επιδέσμους να βρίσκονται εκεί, αλλά δεν μπήκε μέσα. 6 Κατόπιν ήρθε ακολουθώντας τον και ο Σίμων Πέτρος και μπήκε μέσα στο μνημείο. Και είδε τους επιδέσμους να βρίσκονται εκεί, 7 το δε πανί που υπήρχε πάνω στο κεφάλι του να μη βρίσκεται μαζί με τους επιδέσμους αλλά να είναι τυλιγμένο χωριστά σε ένα μέρος. 8 Τότε λοιπόν, ο άλλος μαθητής που είχε φτάσει στο μνημείο πρώτος μπήκε και αυτός μέσα και είδε και πίστεψε. 9 Διότι δεν είχαν διακρίνει ακόμη τη γραφή, ότι πρέπει να αναστηθεί από τους νεκρούς. 10 Και οι μαθητές γύρισαν στα σπίτια τους.

   11 Η Μαρία, ωστόσο, συνέχισε να στέκεται έξω κοντά στο μνημείο κλαίγοντας. Τότε, ενώ έκλαιγε, έσκυψε για να κοιτάξει μέσα στο μνημείο 12 και είδε δύο αγγέλους στα λευκά, που κάθονταν ένας προς το μέρος του κεφαλιού και ένας προς το μέρος των ποδιών, εκεί που βρισκόταν πριν το σώμα του Ιησού. 13 Και εκείνοι της είπαν: «Γυναίκα, γιατί κλαις;» Αυτή τους είπε: «Πήραν τον Κύριό μου και δεν ξέρω πού τον έχουν βάλει». 14 Αφού τα είπε αυτά, γύρισε προς τα πίσω και είδε τον Ιησού να στέκεται, αλλά δεν διέκρινε ότι ήταν ο Ιησούς. 15 Ο Ιησούς τής είπε: «Γυναίκα, γιατί κλαις; Ποιον ψάχνεις;» Αυτή, νομίζοντας ότι ήταν ο κηπουρός, του είπε: «Αν εσύ τον μετέφερες αλλού, κύριε, πες μου πού τον έβαλες και εγώ θα τον πάρω». 16 Ο Ιησούς τής είπε: «Μαρία!» Γυρίζοντας αυτή του είπε στην εβραϊκή: «Ραββουνί!» (το οποίο σημαίνει «Δάσκαλε!»). 17 Ο Ιησούς τής είπε: «Μη γαντζώνεσαι πάνω μου. Διότι δεν έχω ανεβεί ακόμη στον Πατέρα. Πήγαινε, όμως, στους αδελφούς μου και πες τους: “Ανεβαίνω στον Πατέρα μου και Πατέρα σας και στον Θεό μου και Θεό σας”». 18 Η Μαρία η Μαγδαληνή ήρθε και ανήγγειλε στους μαθητές: «Είδα τον Κύριο!» και ότι της είπε αυτά τα πράγματα.

   19 Όταν, λοιπόν, κόντευε να τελειώσει εκείνη η ημέρα, η πρώτη της εβδομάδας, και μολονότι οι πόρτες ήταν κλειδωμένες εκεί που ήταν οι μαθητές εξαιτίας του φόβου για τους Ιουδαίους, ήρθε ο Ιησούς και στάθηκε ανάμεσά τους και τους είπε: «Είθε να έχετε ειρήνη». 20 Και αφού το είπε αυτό, τους έδειξε και τα χέρια του και την πλευρά του. Τότε οι μαθητές χάρηκαν που είδαν τον Κύριο. 21 Ο Ιησούς, λοιπόν, τους είπε πάλι: «Είθε να έχετε ειρήνη. Όπως με έχει αποστείλει ο Πατέρας, και εγώ επίσης στέλνω εσάς». 22 Και αφού το είπε αυτό, φύσηξε πάνω τους και τους είπε: «Λάβετε άγιο πνεύμα. 23 Αν συγχωρήσετε τις αμαρτίες κάποιων, τους είναι συγχωρημένες· αν κρατάτε τις αμαρτίες κάποιων, είναι κρατημένες».

20 On the first day of the week Mary Magdalene came to the memorial tomb early, while there was still darkness, and she beheld the stone already taken away from the memorial tomb. 2 Therefore she ran and came to Simon Peter and to the other disciple, for whom Jesus had affection, and she said to them: “They have taken away the Lord out of the memorial tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him.”

3 Then Peter and the other disciple went out and started for the memorial tomb. 4 Yes, the two together began to run; but the other disciple ran ahead of Peter with greater speed and reached the memorial tomb first. 5 And, stooping forward, he beheld the bandages lying, yet he did not go in. 6 Then Simon Peter also came following him, and he entered into the memorial tomb. And he viewed the bandages lying, 7 also the cloth that had been upon his head not lying with the bandages but separately rolled up in one place. 8 At that time, therefore, the other disciple who had reached the memorial tomb first also went in, and he saw and believed. 9 For they did not yet discern the scripture that he must rise from the dead. 10 And so the disciples went back to their homes.

11 Mary, however, kept standing outside near the memorial tomb, weeping. Then, while she was weeping, she stooped forward to look into the memorial tomb 12 and she viewed two angels in white sitting one at the head and one at the feet where the body of Jesus had been lying. 13 And they said to her: “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them: “They have taken my Lord away, and I do not know where they have laid him.” 14 After saying these things, she turned back and viewed Jesus standing, but she did not discern it was Jesus. 15 Jesus said to her: “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you looking for?” She, imagining it was the gardener, said to him: “Sir, if you have carried him off, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.” 16 Jesus said to her: “Mary!” Upon turning around, she said to him, in Hebrew: “Rabboni!” (which means “Teacher!”) 17 Jesus said to her: “Stop clinging to me. For I have not yet ascended to the Father. But be on your way to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and YOUR Father and to my God and YOUR God.’” 18 Mary Magdalene came and brought the news to the disciples: “I have seen the Lord!” and that he said these things to her.

19 Therefore, when it was late on that day, the first of the week, and, although the doors were locked where the disciples were for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst and said to them: “May YOU have peace.” 20 And after he said this he showed them both his hands and his side. Then the disciples rejoiced at seeing the Lord. 21 Jesus, therefore, said to them again: “May YOU have peace. Just as the Father has sent me forth, I also am sending YOU.” 22 And after he said this he blew upon them and said to them: “Receive holy spirit. 23 If YOU forgive the sins of any persons, they stand forgiven to them; if YOU retain those of any persons, they stand retained.”
