Λουκάς 4:14 — 4:30

   14  Τότε ο Ιησούς επέστρεψε με τη δύναμη του πνεύματος στη Γαλιλαία.  Και διαδόθηκαν καλά λόγια σχετικά με αυτόν σε όλη τη γύρω περιοχή.  15  Επίσης, άρχισε να διδάσκει στις συναγωγές τους, και όλοι τον τιμούσαν.  

   16  Και ήρθε στη Ναζαρέτ,  όπου είχε ανατραφεί· και, όπως συνήθιζε την ημέρα του σαββάτου, μπήκε στη συναγωγή  και σηκώθηκε να διαβάσει. 17  Του δόθηκε, λοιπόν, ο ρόλος του προφήτη Ησαΐα, και εκείνος άνοιξε το ρόλο και βρήκε το μέρος όπου ήταν γραμμένο: 18  «Πνεύμα  του Ιεχωβά είναι πάνω μου, επειδή αυτός με έχρισε για να διακηρύξω καλά νέα στους φτωχούς, με απέστειλε να κηρύξω απελευθέρωση στους αιχμάλωτους και ανάκτηση της όρασης στους τυφλούς, να εξαποστείλω τους συντετριμμένους απελευθερώνοντάς τους,  19  να κηρύξω το ευπρόσδεκτο έτος  του Ιεχωβά». 20  Τότε τύλιξε το ρόλο, τον έδωσε πίσω στον υπηρέτη και κάθησε· και τα μάτια όλων στη συναγωγή ήταν επίμονα προσηλωμένα πάνω του. 21  Κατόπιν άρχισε να τους λέει: «Σήμερα εκπληρώνεται αυτή η γραφή που μόλις ακούσατε».  

   22  Και όλοι άρχισαν να δίνουν ευνοϊκή μαρτυρία σχετικά με αυτόν και να θαυμάζουν για τα ελκυστικά λόγια  που έβγαιναν από το στόμα του, και έλεγαν: «Δεν είναι αυτός γιος του Ιωσήφ;»  23  Τότε τους είπε: «Χωρίς αμφιβολία θα εφαρμόσετε σε εμένα αυτή την παραβολή: “Γιατρέ,  θεράπευσε τον εαυτό σου· όσα  ακούσαμε ότι έγιναν στην Καπερναούμ  κάνε τα επίσης εδώ, στον τόπο σου”».  24  Αλλά είπε: «Αληθινά σας λέω ότι κανένας προφήτης δεν είναι δεκτός στον τόπο του. 25  Για παράδειγμα, σας λέω αληθινά: Πολλές χήρες υπήρχαν στον Ισραήλ στις ημέρες του Ηλία όταν ο ουρανός έκλεισε επί τρία χρόνια και έξι μήνες, ώστε έπεσε μεγάλη πείνα σε όλο τον τόπο,  26  εντούτοις ο Ηλίας δεν στάλθηκε σε καμιά από εκείνες τις γυναίκες, παρά μόνο στα Σαρεπτά,  στη χώρα της Σιδώνας, σε κάποια χήρα. 27  Επίσης, πολλοί λεπροί υπήρχαν στον Ισραήλ τον καιρό του Ελισαιέ του προφήτη, εντούτοις κανείς από αυτούς δεν καθαρίστηκε παρά ο Νεεμάν ο Σύριος».  28  Τότε όλοι εκείνοι που τα άκουγαν αυτά στη συναγωγή γέμισαν θυμό·  29  και σηκώθηκαν και τον έβγαλαν βιαστικά έξω από την πόλη και τον οδήγησαν στην άκρη του βουνού, πάνω στο οποίο ήταν χτισμένη η πόλη τους, για να τον ρίξουν στον γκρεμό.  30  Αυτός, όμως, πέρασε ανάμεσά τους και συνέχισε το δρόμο του.  

14 Now Jesus returned in the power of the spirit into Galilee. And good talk concerning him spread out through all the surrounding country. 15 Also, he began to teach in their synagogues, being held in honor by all.

16 And he came to Nazareth, where he had been reared; and, according to his custom on the sabbath day, he entered into the synagogue, and he stood up to read. 17 So the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed him, and he opened the scroll and found the place where it was written: 18 “Jehovah’s spirit is upon me, because he anointed me to declare good news to the poor, he sent me forth to preach a release to the captives and a recovery of sight to the blind, to send the crushed ones away with a release, 19 to preach Jehovah’s acceptable year.” 20 With that he rolled up the scroll, handed it back to the attendant and sat down; and the eyes of all in the synagogue were intently fixed upon him. 21 Then he started to say to them: “Today this scripture that YOU just heard is fulfilled.”

22 And they all began to give favorable witness about him and to marvel at the winsome words proceeding out of his mouth, and they were saying: “This is a son of Joseph, is it not?” 23 At this he said to them: “No doubt YOU will apply this illustration to me, ‘Physician, cure yourself; the things we heard as having happened in Capernaum do also here in your home territory.’” 24 But he said: “Truly I tell YOU that no prophet is accepted in his home territory. 25 For instance, I tell YOU in truth, There were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, so that a great famine fell upon all the land, 26 yet Elijah was sent to none of those [women], but only to Zarephath in the land of Sidon to a widow. 27 Also, there were many lepers in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, yet not one of them was cleansed, but Naaman the man of Syria.” 28 Now all those hearing these things in the synagogue became filled with anger; 29 and they rose up and hurried him outside the city, and they led him to the brow of the mountain upon which their city had been built, in order to throw him down headlong. 30 But he went through the midst of them and continued on his way.
