Λουκάς 8:1 — 8:15

8  Ύστερα από λίγο άρχισε να ταξιδεύει από πόλη σε πόλη και από χωριό σε χωριό, κηρύττοντας και αναγγέλλοντας τα καλά νέα της βασιλείας του Θεού.  Και οι δώδεκα ήταν μαζί του, 2  και ορισμένες γυναίκες  που είχαν θεραπευτεί από πονηρά πνεύματα και αρρώστιες: η Μαρία, η λεγόμενη Μαγδαληνή, από την οποία είχαν βγει εφτά δαίμονες,  3  και η Ιωάννα,  η σύζυγος του Χουζά, του επιτρόπου του Ηρώδη, και η Σουσάννα και πολλές άλλες γυναίκες, οι οποίες τους διακονούσαν από τα υπάρχοντά τους.

    4  Αφού, λοιπόν, συγκεντρώθηκε μεγάλο πλήθος μαζί με εκείνους που έρχονταν σε αυτόν από τη μια πόλη μετά την άλλη, αυτός μίλησε μέσω μιας παραβολής:  5  «Ο σπορέας βγήκε να σπείρει το σπόρο του. Καθώς, λοιπόν, έσπερνε, ένα μέρος του σπόρου έπεσε δίπλα στο δρόμο και πατήθηκε, και τα πουλιά του ουρανού το έφαγαν.  6  Ένα άλλο μέρος έπεσε πάνω στο βράχο και, αφού βλάστησε, ξεράθηκε επειδή δεν είχε υγρασία.  7  Ένα άλλο μέρος έπεσε ανάμεσα στα αγκάθια, και τα αγκάθια που μεγάλωσαν μαζί του το έπνιξαν.  8  Ένα άλλο μέρος έπεσε στο καλό χώμα και, αφού βλάστησε, παρήγαγε καρπό εκατό φορές περισσότερο».  Καθώς τα έλεγε αυτά, φώναξε: «Αυτός που έχει αφτιά για να ακούει, ας ακούει».  

    9  Αλλά οι μαθητές του άρχισαν να τον ρωτούν τι μπορεί να σήμαινε αυτή η παραβολή.  10  Αυτός είπε: «Σε εσάς έχει επιτραπεί να καταλάβετε τα ιερά μυστικά της βασιλείας του Θεού, αλλά για τους υπόλοιπους είναι με παραβολές,  ώστε, μολονότι κοιτάζουν, να κοιτάζουν μάταια και, μολονότι ακούν, να μην καταλαβαίνουν το νόημα.  11  Να λοιπόν τι σημαίνει η παραβολή:  Ο σπόρος είναι ο λόγος του Θεού.  12  Εκείνοι που έπεσαν δίπλα στο δρόμο είναι αυτοί που έχουν ακούσει·  μετά έρχεται ο Διάβολος  και αφαιρεί το λόγο από την καρδιά τους για να μην πιστέψουν και σωθούν.  13  Εκείνοι που έπεσαν πάνω στο βράχο είναι αυτοί που, όταν ακούν το λόγο, τον δέχονται με χαρά, αλλά δεν έχουν ρίζα· πιστεύουν για κάποιον καιρό, αλλά σε καιρό δοκιμής πέφτουν.  14  Όσο για εκείνο που έπεσε ανάμεσα στα αγκάθια, αυτοί είναι που άκουσαν, αλλά, παρασυρόμενοι από τις ανησυχίες και τον πλούτο και τις απολαύσεις  αυτής της ζωής, πνίγονται εντελώς και δεν φέρνουν τίποτα σε τελειότητα.  15  Όσο για εκείνο που έπεσε στο καλό χώμα, αυτοί είναι εκείνοι που, αφού ακούσουν το λόγο με καλή και αγαθή καρδιά,  τον κρατούν και καρποφορούν με υπομονή.  

 

8 Shortly afterwards he went journeying from city to city and from village to village, preaching and declaring the good news of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with him, 2 and certain women that had been cured of wicked spirits and sicknesses, Mary the so-called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had come out, 3 and Joanna the wife of Chuza, Herod’s man in charge, and Susanna and many other women, who were ministering to them from their belongings.

4 Now when a great crowd had collected together with those that went to him from city after city, he spoke by means of an illustration: 5 “A sower went out to sow his seed. Well, as he was sowing, some of it fell alongside the road and was trampled down, and the birds of heaven ate it up. 6 Some other landed upon the rock-mass, and, after sprouting, it dried up because of not having moisture. 7 Some other fell among the thorns, and the thorns that grew up with it choked it off. 8 Some other fell upon the good soil, and, after sprouting, it produced fruit a hundredfold.” As he told these things, he proceeded to call out: “Let him that has ears to listen, listen.”

9 But his disciples began to ask him what this illustration might mean. 10 He said: “To YOU it is granted to understand the sacred secrets of the kingdom of God, but for the rest it is in illustrations, in order that, though looking, they may look in vain and, though hearing, they may not get the meaning. 11 Now the illustration means this: The seed is the word of God. 12 Those alongside the road are the ones that have heard, then the Devil comes and takes the word away from their hearts in order that they may not believe and be saved. 13 Those upon the rock-mass are the ones who, when they hear it, receive the word with joy, but these have no root; they believe for a season, but in a season of testing they fall away. 14 As for that which fell among the thorns, these are the ones that have heard, but, by being carried away by anxieties and riches and pleasures of this life, they are completely choked and bring nothing to perfection. 15 As for that on the fine soil, these are the ones that, after hearing the word with a fine and good heart, retain it and bear fruit with endurance.
